2010 priorities
i) The Main Priority for 2010
is to develop the health of all three Sunday congregations by
- establishing a team, led by Ro Willoughby, to take day-to-day responsibility for growing and maturing the Early Start service;
- identifying, articulating and implementing a clear vision for the 11am service; and
- exploring the feasibility of transitioning Celebrate @ 7 into a mission-shaped, weekly evening service led by David Marriott that is open to all but intentionally accessible to teens and young adults.
ii) Additional Priorities for 2010
- To ensure that the Children’s and Families Ministry Co-ordinator experiences a good induction, is enabled quickly to discern key priorities, and has a clear focus to their work so that our ministry to children and families grows.
- To make the most of the mission-related opportunities presented by the occasional offices, the church calendar and invitational events such as Back to Church Sunday.
- To develop more effective pastoral care so people feel valued and are helped to grow in faith and service.
- To encourage enquirers to explore and experience faith in Christ by providing occasional ‘bridging events’ and ensuring that Alpha is run at least once this year.
- To discern how we can develop new and appropriate forms of midweek-week small-groups.
- To encourage an increasing number of church members to practise the discipline of Christian giving, so that we have the necessary resources for sustaining and developing our ministry and mission.
