WASTEWATCHERS HOLIDAY CLUB

27th-29th October 2010
October half-term! Children and leaders will never forget the Wastewatchers holiday club.
What did we do?
- dens – the rabbits and the jungle dens - children and leaders had to crawl through a tunnel to get in – once inside, there was lots to do and make, lots to talk about and lots of fun
- On the tip time – altogether we had energy bursts, jokes, songs, Bible story, films and games – fast-moving and full of challenges
- Craft time - back in the dens, children made things like fantasy animals and shakers. They talked about the world God has made and how it has been messed up. As the programme developed, we saw how God has come to put things right, in the world and in people too.
- Animation - older children made an animation of the three Bible stories – how did they do it in such a short time?!
- Junk and mess - a huge picture of God’s world was messed up and junk was everywhere, but slowly the junk disappeared and was replaced by beautiful plants. Everyone decided where in the big picture they wanted to be - on the swing, in the river, on a boat, in goal, flying like a bird?!
- Peru - we prayed for and collected money for the Shalom project in Peru, which is making a difference in God’s world, by preparing parents of children who cannot walk or talk to support their child. We can make a difference too.

What were the best bits?
The dens!
The fun!
Getting to know new people!
Hearing Bible stories and discovering how we can follow Jesus!
The jokes!
…and for the team of leaders it was a great way to get to know each other.
One child said as he left on the last day, “I would like holiday club to last 100 days!”
