Thanksgivings and Baptisms
Are you interested in having your child baptised at St Paul’s? Do you want to be baptised yourself? We would be happy to explore this with you.
For younger children we offer two types of service:
- a thanksgiving service to thank God for this new life and pray for God’s blessing on the family; and
- a baptism service, where the child is welcomed into God’s family. Their parents and godparents make promises before God and the congregation to bring the child up to know and love God.
Either of these would take place within our Early Start service at 9.15am on a Sunday morning.
For older children, teenagers and adults, we offer a baptism service, in which the person declares publicly their Christian faith, promises to grow in their knowledge and love of God and is welcomed into God’s family. This can take place at any service on a Sunday.
If you’re a regular at St Paul’s, or have been coming along to the services for several months, then please do have a chat with one of the clergy after a service. They will arrange a visit with you and discuss the next steps.
